This week's #tbthursday picture shows what the original Grove Cottage building looked like when it was purchased back in 1971. During the renovations the name of the building 'Grove Cottage' was revealed & has been retained ever since. Also shown is how the building looks today. https://t.co/6PcjSgFeNh

This week's #tbthursday picture shows what the original Grove Cottage building looked like. In 1971 an appeal was launched to the people of Bishop’s Stortford towards buying and renovating our own premises and the response from the community was overwhelming. Many groups and individuals held fundraisers to buy 151 London Road and convert it into a social and recreational centre. During the renovations, the name of the building 'Grove Cottage' was revealed and has been retained ever since. Also shown is how the building looks today.

We are delighted to welcome Linda Matthews who has recently joined us as our Volunteer Co-ordinator. Linda says "Being a primary school teacher, I see how children with learning disabilities struggle to receive the support they need. I became a volunteer at Grove in 2018 as I wanted to use my skills to give something back. I look forward to using my experiences to recruit new volunteers to join the great team here. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Linda at volunteer@mencapgrovecottage.org
