Grove Cottage Services Update – 4th December 2020

Grove Cottage Services Update – 4th December 2020

Letter sent to Parents and Carers – 4th December 2020

We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well. I am writing to update you with our plans for next term. I am sure you will not be surprised to learn that we are still unable to bring our full timetable of clubs back this side of Easter. We imagine that until a vaccination programme has been successfully implemented within the local community some of our clubs will remain closed.

The good news is that as things stand, after Christmas the following clubs will still be running:

  • Nursery
  • Performing Arts
  • The Music Man Project at South Mill Arts Centre
  • Life Skills at Thirst Café
  • Get Active at Northgate Primary
  • All Saturday Clubs
  • Holiday Clubs will return in the Easter holidays

Our evening and weekend clubs will be operating with the member bubbles that we introduced in September. The Music Man Project will now launch in January. Lottie will be in touch with the dates of your free trial sessions. Life Skills will offer limited spaces at each session which need to be booked in advance.  Club Leaders will be in contact with session dates for January to Easter shortly.

With effect from January 2021, we will be increasing our club fees of our evening, weekend and holiday clubs from £4 per hour to £5 per hour due to increased costs. This is never a decision that we take lightly, however, our fees have been frozen for several years. With smaller member groups, increased staff ratios and cleaning costs this is now unavoidable. Invoices for next term will be sent the week commencing 11th January 2021. If you do not want your child to attend sessions next term, would you please let your club leader know as soon as possible.Wednesday and Thursday adult groups fees when they reopen.will remain unchanged.

As we continue to follow guidelines and keep up to date with the local situation, we will update you with any changes. Should there be another national lockdown we will write to inform if we need to close any clubs.

We would like to thank you or your continued support. By following the guidelines and self-isolating when necessary you have enabled us to keep Grove Cottage open. I would also like to thank our amazing staff for their professionalism and commitment, we are lucky to have such a wonderful team at Grove Cottage.

We wish you and your families well and hope you can enjoy Christmas with your loved ones.

With my very best wishes,

Kevin Davis
Chair of Trustees
