Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Update – 6th November 2020
Letter sent to Parents and Carers – 6th November 2020
Our Board of Trustees held an extraordinary Board meeting on Wednesday 4th November to discuss how we can best continue to support our members and their families throughout the November lockdown. We have studied the relevant guidance and we are relieved to say we can continue offering some of our services throughout this time.
Our Nursery and SLT for younger members will continue as normal. SLT for our older members will be suspended throughout the lockdown period. We are introducing a free adult Wednesday daytime support group at The Southmill Arts Centre and will continue to offer Life skills sessions from the Thirst Youth Café on a Thursday (£5 per session). Due to limited spaces available sessions must be pre-booked, Freya will be in contact on Monday 9th November with further details.
After conducting a thorough risk assessment, it has been deemed necessary to suspend our evening Performing Arts and Get Active Groups during lockdown. Any pre-paid fees will be refunded.
Our Saturday respite clubs will be running from the 14th November to the 19th December. There will not be a session this Saturday 7th November. We have had to make some alterations to the dates we are offering to our Cottage Crew and Cottage Chill clubs to ensure our staff are not working across staff and member bubbles. Sam and Becca will update you with any changes. We previously stated that invoices would be sent on the 2nd November these have been held back as we reviewed the new guidance and will be sent next week.
Should staff be required to isolate we may need to cancel clubs at short notice as we will be unable to bring in cover staff.
If you or anyone in your family has COVID or any symptoms, YOU MUST NOT ATTEND GROVE COTTAGE. We would advise that the person has a test and if the test is positive it is really important that you inform the club leader and email info@mencapgrovecottage.org as soon as possible. We will then advise all appropriate staff and families.
Thank you as ever for your continued support.
Kevin Davis – Chair of Trustees
