Grove Cottage is walking with the Helping Herts founders for 13 miles across our beautiful countryside of Bishops Stortford. We are making a difference to the lives of children in Hertfordshire with donations doubled thanks to match funding.
Date: Saturday 27th September 2025
Venue: Start from Tesco at Bishop’s Park
We invite you to join the Grove Cottage Team walking 13 miles on Saturday 27th September!
At the start of the walk, bottled water and health food bars will be provided courtesy of Tesco.
We are meeting at 9.30am at Bishop’s Park Tesco, with a send-off from Bishop’s Stortford Woodwind Orchestra and Mayor Richard Townsend, leaving at 10am. From Green Street and Millfield Cottage to Hadham Ford, crossing Stortford Road to Church End. You can do a 3.7 mile walk and finish here if preferred!
After passing Hadham Hall, we’ll cross over the bypass to Upwick Green, along undulating tracks to Patmore Heath (6.9 miles). We’ll visit our sponsor the Catherine Wheel pub in Albury at lunchtime for refreshments and a quick break.
Through Farnham Green and Chatter End and onto Thrimley Lane, Wickham Hall and Hadham Lodge, we will stop for a special treat at the Bailey Hills Estate winery! You’ll receive a taste of their superb cuvee sparkling wine, and a team photo of the group, before heading back to Tesco.
Registration is £10 per adult and £5 per child, and includes a Grove Cottage t-shirt and refreshments during the walk at Tesco, The Catherine Wheel and Bailey Estate.
