Grove Cottage Awarded £50,000 Grant from Bishop’s Stortford Town Council towards Redevelopment

Grove Cottage is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a £50,000 grant from Bishop’s Stortford Town Council towards the charity’s redevelopment on London Road.

This is the most recent grant that has been awarded to Grove Cottage’s new build project from trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations, and will enable the charity to continue its mission of providing educational and social activities for people of all ages who have learning disabilities and special additional needs, far into the future.

“We are very grateful to the Town Council for their generous support,” said Grove Cottage’s Fundraising Manager, Natalie Prosser. “This grant will enable Grove Cottage to build a safer, more accessible building for our members, and will make a significant difference in our ability to continue to support our members to lead fulfilling lives.”

The grant shows the commitment of Grove Cottage and the Town Council to making a positive impact in Bishop’s Stortford. The support we have received from the local community, from generous individuals, businesses and from organisations like Bishop’s Stortford Town Council, has been incredible. We still have some way to go to meet our fundraising target, and there is the opportunity to support our project by heading to our A Better Building for a Brighter Future page https://www.mencapgrovecottage.org/build/”.

Cllr Miriam Swainston, Leader of Bishop’s Stortford Town Council, said, “I am delighted that Bishop’s Stortford Town Council have been able to award of £50,000 towards the redevelopment of Grove Cottage.

This is such an important resource in the town, it supports some of our most vulnerable residents. It is wonderful that they help people of all ages, with learning disabilities and special additional needs, to live the fullest and happiest lives that they can. The support they provide to their families is also essential.

I wish them every success with this project and urge everyone that is able to support Grove Cottage to do so”.

With the support from the community, Grove Cottage can continue working toward its vision of a world in which every individual with a learning disability has the opportunity to learn, develop, integrate into society and exercise choices, and where families can enjoy a regular family life.
