130 Grove Cottage supporters danced the night away on Friday 6th March with one of the UK’s top tribute bands ‘ABBA Re-Bjorn’. The event, which took place at the Charis Centre on Water Lane, raised an incredible £2,300 for local charity Grove Cottage, the home of Bishop’s Stortford Mencap.
Tribute act ‘ABBA Re-Bjorn’ put on a show to remember as they re-created the iconic and much-loved songs of the legendary Swedish quartet. With their Swedish accents, tight harmonies, high-energy performance, replica costumes and audience participation aplenty they delivered a show stopping performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
Guests were also treated to a delicious hot meal during the interlude, catered for by Bishop’s Stortford based catering company Coppice Catering and Grove Cottage were extremely grateful for the support of Sawbridgeworth based IT company, HardSoft Computers, for their invaluable sponsorship of the event.
Nicky Hastler, Community Fundraiser at Grove Cottage said “ABBA ReBjorn put on a fantastic show and we were so pleased to see so many of our members and supporters enjoying themselves as they danced the night away to the classic tunes from this iconic group. We’re thrilled to have raised over £2,300 for Grove Cottage and these funds will be used to support the clubs and activities we provide to enrich the lives of those living with learning disabilities in the local area.”
