Join us for our Santa Dash!

The Grove Cottage Santa Dash and Reindeer Run is back on Sunday 4^th December 2022 at Grange Paddocks Leisure Centre, Rye Street, Bishops Stortford with a new 5K route which will take runners out from Grange Paddocks towards Sworders Field and back.

All participants aged 13 years and over will be provided with a full five-piece Santa suit which includes trousers, jacket, belt, hat and the trademark white beard which is theirs to keep! Children aged 12 or under can be registered as reindeers and will be provided with festive reindeer antlers to run in and will receive a medal at the end of the race.

Santa’s and Reindeers can choose to take on either the 5K or 1K routes and runners, walkers, joggers and even dashers are all welcome! Both routes start at 11am (warm up at 10.45am). Registration will be open from 10am. All monies raised will go to Grove Cottage – the home of Bishop’s Stortford Mencap.

Several Grove Cottage members will be taking part including Ruth MacFarlane, age 15, who will be running with her mum Kate.

Nicky Hastler, Community Fundraiser at Grove Cottage said: “Our Santa Dash is a family friendly event and is the perfect opportunity for the community to get together. With the 1K and 5K routes available to choose from, it’s perfect for all abilities whether you run regularly or just want to join us for a stroll – it’s a fun run – not a race!”

Local firm HardSoft Computers has once again sponsored the event and Managing Director, and long-term supporter of Grove Cottage, Phil Morgan, said, “We are thrilled to once again sponsor the Santa Dash and Reindeer Run. This event is fantastic fun and it’s wonderful to see so many people get together to support a great local cause.”

Santa Entry (13 years and over) costs £12 and Reindeer Entry (12 years and under) costs £6.
