Reindeer Run: A Festive Triumph with Heartfelt Thanks to the Community
Our annual family festive Reindeer Run, held on Sunday 3rd December wrapped up in a whirlwind of joy and community spirit, leaving behind a trail of gratitude to everyone who made it a resounding success.
This year’s Reindeer Run was a testament to the incredible community support, with around 100 enthusiastic participants, including the resilient and wonderful boys, Jack and Alexi. Despite battling an ear infection, Alexi’s determination to complete the run added an inspiring touch to the event.
The festivities kicked off with boundless energy, thanks to Grove Cottage’s Elf extraordinaire, Josh Wright, who set the stage for a morning filled with laughter and holiday cheer, even despite the freezing temperatures. The Mayor, Cllr Richard Townsend, not only joined in the fun but also played a part in awarding prizes, including the coveted title of the 1st Family to Finish—congratulations to Alexi, Jack, Sian, and Dave!
Special recognition goes to the Stubbs family, comprising Cooper, Logan, Laura, Sam, Xander, Julie, Paul Stubb, and Chris Chatt, for clinching the Biggest Family Group prize. The cutest toddler stole the show, winning the adorable Grove Cottage Bear.
Mina Pandya, Community Fundraising Team Leader said, “On behalf of us all at Grove Cottage and our Grove Cottage Elf, thank you to all our wonderful Reindeer Runners. From our smallest toddlers to our amazing family groups and speedy grown-ups – the atmosphere was fantastic, and we cannot thank you enough!”
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the volunteers whose dedication ensured the smooth running of the event – from staking out the run to managing registration and bag drop-off. Their invaluable contributions made the Reindeer Run a memorable experience for all.
We are also very grateful to HardSoft Computers for their generous sponsorship and to Grange Paddocks Leisure Centre for hosting the event.
