Saturday Clubs

Our Saturday Clubs are held every Saturday and provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children and young adults up to the age of 25 who have a learning disability.

Our Saturday Clubs give children and young people the opportunity to have fun, meet and make friends and provides vital respite to families.

To enable us to give the children and young people the best experience possible, we hold three different Saturday clubs according to age and need:

Cottage Kids

Cottage Kids is for younger children aged 5 – 12 years. We hold two half day sessions on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month (9am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 5.30pm).

Sessions are mainly based at Grove Cottage and sessions are themed so that members can take part in arts and craft, baking or maybe even a visit to our local park.

Cottage Crew

Cottage Crew is aimed at teenagers aged 13 to 25 years and is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9.30am – 1pm and 2-5.30pm.

Cottage Crew is a fun and sociable club for youngsters to meet and go out and about in the community. In addition to a varied timetable of on-site activities members enjoy trips to the park, local coffee shops and cinema afternoons.

Cottage Chill

Cottage Chill is for members aged 10 -19 years with more complex needs or require 1-1 specialist support. These sessions are held on the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am – 2pm.

Cottage Chill allows our members to socialise and interact with others and have fun going out into the local community. Members enjoy a number of sensory based activities within Grove Cottage as well as trips to local parks.

Our Saturday Club sessions are charged at various rates and payment is by invoice termly in advance. For more information on joining this club as a new starter please click here.

For existing club members who have queries please email the appropriate club leader.

Cottage Crew has helped our daughter to socialise again. She is able to enjoy meeting and going out with people other than her family, improving her independence and confidence. As a family we are able to use the time that she is at Grove Cottage to undertake some tasks that she doesn’t enjoy. The biggest benefit, however, has been seeing her happy and confident and better able to cope with change and new situations. It has undoubtedly helped her cope with the transition to a new school setting.

Grove Cottage aims to be a fully inclusive organisation and is committed to supporting people through financial hardship. We can therefore, on a case by case basis, subsidise the cost of our services. If you would like to speak to our Operations Manager confidentially about this please email om@mencapgrovecottage.org.
