Daring Fundraiser Takes the Plunge for a Worthy Cause

In a heartwarming display of courage and generosity, Nigel Sweeney, a dedicated volunteer at local charity Grove Cottage, is gearing up to celebrate his 60th year in a truly extraordinary way. To mark this milestone, Nigel is embarking on an exhilarating charity skydive, with all proceeds going to support Grove Cottage.

Grove Cottage, a cherished organisation known for its commitment to providing social and educational activities for individuals of all ages who have learning disabilities and specialised additional needs, has touched the hearts of countless families and members. The charity goes above and beyond to encourage, support, and nurture its members, fostering meaningful friendships, facilitating learning, and ensuring everyone has a fantastic time. Furthermore, Grove Cottage extends a much-needed respite to families and caregivers, offering them a vital break from their responsibilities.

As an integral part of the volunteer team at Grove Cottage, Nigel has personally witnessed the profound impact the charity has on the lives of its members. With a willingness to go the extra mile (literally, in this case), Nigel has decided to combine his 60th birthday celebration with a grand gesture of support for the charity he holds dear.

Commenting on this daring endeavour, Nigel said, “The thought of it scares the living daylights out of me but doing it for Grove Cottage will encourage me to overcome the fear and make it more worthwhile. They are a wonderful team, and I am truly proud to volunteer there.”

This thrilling charity skydive not only represents Nigel’s personal challenge but also an opportunity for the community to rally together in support of Grove Cottage. Contributions to Nigel’s skydive will directly benefit the charity’s efforts to continue making a positive impact on the lives of those who attend Grove Cottage.
